GUEST SPEAKER
The Guest Speaker for the 2007 Event was Jim Kenzie. He arrived in his 1972 AMC Hornet and participated in all aspects of the event.
Jim Kenzie has been an automotive journalist for over 25 years. He is currently Chief Auto Reviewer for the Toronto Star Wheels section, whose circulation makes it by far the largest automotive publication in Canada, and one of the largest in the world.
The Engineering graduate (University of Toronto) is also a commentator on TSN's Motoring 2004, Canada's longest-running and most-watched automotive television magazine, and a freelance writer and broadcaster for many outlets, in Canada and abroad. Jim won the inaugural Canadian Journalist of the Year award, and has been a runner-up for this award on many occasions. Jim holds an International Class-B Racing license, and has been a road-racer for thirty years. He was co-founder of the Targa Newfoundland Rally. Jim is also an advanced driver training instructor and "wrote the book" - quite literally - for the innovative Labatt's Road Scholarship driver training program.
A founding member and two-time President of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada, Jim is currently Chair of AJAC's Canadian Car and Truck of the Year Organizing Group, and Chair of AJAC's Art of the Automobile Committee. He is also a member of the North American Car of the Year jury, and a juror for the International Engine of the Year awards.
